Cauvery Power Trading Chennai Limited is a group company having
stakes in Elango Industries Ltd and Kaveri Gas Power Ltd. Promoters of Kaveri Gas Power Ltd also promoted this company as well.
The company has taken the professional membership in Indian Electricity Exchange or IEX, power exchange platform. As a Member of the IEX, the company facilitates industries to buy power from IEX to tide over power cuts imposed by state utilities. Now activities are centred in Tamilnadu but soon it will venture in to other states to help industies to buy power through IEX.
CPT Chennai Ltd has also applied for licence for Power Trading before CERC and once the approval is received, it will also help Generators to sell power to Industrial consumers / State utilities
